The Game Story:
Salisbury, Md. - Salisbury juniors Dan Boyer and Mac Chase combined for
seven goals and two assists Sunday as the two-time defending NCAA
Division III national champion Sea Gulls used a 10-0 run over a span of
16:48 of the second and third periods to knock off Ohio Wesleyan, 18-7.

Salisbury (5-0), which extended its current winning streak to 34 games,
outshot the Bishops 45-22 and held a 22-5 advantage in face-offs. The
Sea Gulls scored on 2-of-6 extra-man opportunities and used a 3-0 run
over 3:45 of the second quarter to stretch a 6-3 advantage to 9-3. SU
led 10-3 at intermission after trailing 2-1 early in the contest. The
Gulls then scored the first six goals of the third period to move ahead
16-3 at the 6:08 mark and never were threatened again.

Boyer, who leads Salisbury in scoring with 29 points, scored four goals
on four shots and handed out a pair of assists. Chase scored three times
on five shots, while grabbing one ground ball. Junior Chris Phillips
added two goals and three assists, senior Justin Smith added a pair of
goals and one assist and seven other SU players scored one goal apiece.

Senior John Schlegel paced Ohio Wesleyan (0-2) with three goals on six
shots. He also tallied a pair of ground balls. Junior Jarred Law, senior
Jason Balmer, junior Kevin Lakani and sophomore Chad Pouliot also scored
for the Bishops.

Sea Gull senior goalie Dan Korpon ran his record to 5-0 this season. He
recorded 11 saves while giving up six goals.

Senior Paul McCommons took the loss for OWU. He gave up 18 goals while
tallying 12 saves.

Salisbury will return to action next Sunday when the Sea Gulls host
Roanoke College at 1 p.m.
