The Game Story:
NEWPORT, Rhode Island -- Salve Regina University menís lacrosse scored 12 second-half goals to overcome Curry College and win 13-6 in a Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) battle.

The visitors had a 4-1 lead after Mark Lange [Pittsfield, Massachusetts] scored in the opening minute of the third period. The Seahawks then scored nine straight goals over the next period and a half. Freshmen Joe Mullen [Beverly, Massachusetts] and Nick Capodilupo [Newton, Massachusetts] each had two scores in the third. Capodilupo added another pair in the fourth.

Capodilupoís fourth goal gave the Seahawks a 10-4 advantage before the Colonelsí leading scorer Eric Corso [Franklin Lakes, New Jersey] stopped the drought with his third of four goals coming with six minutes remaining. Salve Regina junior attack Mark Simonelli scored two goals in the last five minutes and assisted on another goal from senior Tim Ryan [Barrington, Rhode Island].

Ryan had provided Salve Reginaís only offense in the first half. He finished with four goals, sharing game-high honors.

“Any win is satisfying, but to come back from a 4-1 deficit against a conference opponent is especially sweet,” said Seahawk head coach Kevin Meany.

Salve Regina (3-3) has equalled the team record for most wins in a season (1999, 2000). The Seahawks host another conference foe on Thursday when University of New England visits for a 7:30 p.m. start.
