| SCRANTON, PA – Senior Scott Hodgson scored a game-high four goals to lead Susquehanna to its program-record fourth consecutive victory with a 10-5 win over Scranton at Fitzpatrick Field in Middle Atlantic Conference men's lacrosse action on Wednesday afternoon.
Hodgson (Point Pleasant, NJ/Ramapo H.S.) tallied twice in the final five minutes as the Crusaders (4-1 overall, 3-0 MAC) scored five times in the fourth quarter to break open a 5-4 game. Hodgson, who has scored four or more goals in all four wins, needs one goal to join Andy Nadler (2000-03) as the only players in program history with 100 goals. Junior Justin Mason (Wilmington, DE/Tatnall School) added a pair of fourth-quarter goals and three overall while senior Matt Miceli (Emmaus, PA/Emmaus H.S.) finished with two goals and an assist for the Crusaders, who trailed 2-0 after one quarter before scoring three times in the second quarter to lead 3-2 at the half. Senior Brian Yoder (Conestoga, PA/Penn Manor H.S.) netted his first goal of the season for the Crusaders while junior Dan St. Ours (Saco, ME/Thornton Academy) picked up a pair of assists on the afternoon. The Royals (0-7 overall, 0-3 MAC) were led by two goals from Jonathan Sutter while Peter Doran picked up a pair of assists. Crusader freshman goalie Dan Kotch (Westfield, NJ/Westfield H.S.) again stood out in goal with 18 saves while Dave Monahan made nine stops for Scranton. |
