The Game Story:
SCRANTON, Pa.—Freshman attacker Robby Napp (Spring Lake, N.J./Christian Brothers Academy) scored four goals and assisted on another and sophomore attacker Kyle Frank (Glen Arm, Md./Boys’ Latin) tallied four goals to lead The University of Scranton to a 19-4 victory over Immaculata University Tuesday afternoon at Fitzpatrick Field.

The Royals, now 1-1, also received three goals from freshman attacker Brett Greer (Morton, Pa./Ridley), two apiece from freshman attacker Daniel Slade (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks East) and sophomore attacker Thomas Alati (Glen Ridge, N.J./Montclair Kimberly), and one each from freshman midfielder Mike Rufo (Broomall, Pa./Haverford School), sophomore midfielder J.P. Barton (North Brunswick, N.J./St. Joseph Metuchen), junior midfielder Phil Lindner (Parlin, N.J./St. Joseph Metuchen), and freshman midfielder Matt Glenn (Jamison, Pa./Central Bucks East).

Immaculata was led by sophomore attacker Brendan Dinneen (Warminster, Pa.) with two goals and junior midfielders Zach Krytzer (Blackwood, N.J.) and Tom Hartney (Norwood, Pa.) chipped in one apiece. The loss dropped the Mighty Mac to 0-1.

Napp scored all four of his goals in the first period and Frank added a pair as the Royals out-shot Immaculata 19-2 to build up a commanding 9-2 lead. Greer scored twice within a three-minute span midway through the second period as Scranton extended its lead to 12-2 by halftime.

For the game, the Royals out-shot the Mighty Macs, 55-18, and Scranton sophomore midfielders Patrick Cefalu (East Islip, N.Y./East Islip) and Brendan Gray (Stamford, Conn./Westhill) combined to win 20 of 25 face-off attempts. Scranton also held a 53-30 advantage in ground balls.

All four Royal goalies saw action today. Starter Jeremy Dowiak (Hackettstown, N.J./West Morris) played 30 minutes and made two saves to pick up the victory. Sophomores T.J. Ryan (Long Beach, N.Y./Kellenberg Memorial), Adam Gershowitz (Owings Mills, Md./Owings Mills), and freshman Colin Cable (Ridgewood, N.J./Ridgewood) allowed just two goals and made six saves the rest of the way. Junior Andrew Sim (Prospect Park, Pa.) made a game-high 17 saves for Immaculata.

Scranton will host 2008 NCAA semifinalist Ithaca College this Saturday, February 28, beginning at 1:00 p.m. at Fitzpatrick Field.
