The Game Story:
WINCHESTER, Va. - College Misericordia dealt a major blow to the Shenandoah University men's lacrosse post-season hopes with a 15-10 Pennsylvania Athletic Conference victory Wednesday afternoon.

Misericordia (5-6 overall, 2-1 PAC) broke open a close game by scoring seven straight goals in the middle of the game against SU (2-8, 1-3). Sean Collins had two of his three goals and Matt Rowland two during this run.

With the loss, the Hornets now need to defeat league leader Cabrini on Saturday, beat Alvernia on May 1 and hope that Misericordia does not win another conference game in order to make the PAC tournament. Only the top four of the league's seven teams make the tourney.

With the score 6-4 Misericordia after Sam Johnson (Stafford, Va./Colonial Forge) tallied for the hosts with 5:57 to play in the first half, CM reeled off seven unanswered by the 3:27 mark of the third to make the score 13-4.

Shenandoah attempted to get back in it by scoring six of the next seven goals, but a Paul Lawruk to Carey even strength goal with 12:19 erased any hopes of an SU comeback.

The Cougars took 52 of the game's 88 shots and scooped up 43 groundballs to the Hornets 34. Shenandoah took 18 of the 29 face-offs.

Joe Gorczyca (Gross Pointe Park, Mich./Gross Point Park North) led SU with five points on four goals and an assist, while Johnson added three goals and one assist. Johnson was also 10 for 15 from the face-off 'x'.

Collins matched Gorczyca with five points on three goals and two assists and Matt Carey had four goals for CM. Both teams had five players register at least one point.
