Skidmore vs. Clarkson

The Game Story:
Saratoga Springs, N.Y.-The Skidmore men^s lacrosse team outscored Clarkson 3-0 in the fourth quarter to beat the Golden Knights 9-6 and earn a spot in next week^s Upstate Collegiate Athletic Association championship tournament.

The teams exchanged the lead six times before Andy Meehan put the Thoroughbreds on top for good with his fourth goal of the game at 13:35 of the fourth quarter. Chris Bivona scored off a rebound to make it 8-6 with 9:46 to play and then scored his third goal of the game with :29 left.

Clarkson, ranked 18th nationally, will not be able to defend its UCAA title. The Golden Knights are 3-3 in UCAA play and 9-4 overall. Skidmore is 7-6 and 3-3 in the UCAA and will advance to the tournament by virtue of the head-to-head win.

T.J. Drake and Sean Pearce had two goals each for Clarkson. Joe Zebrowski had 18 saves in goal. James deGorter had 10 saves for the Thoroughbreds, including five in the fourth quarter.

The UCAA pairings will be decided after Rensselaer's game with Vassar on Wednesday.
