| SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - Bowdoin first-year midfielder
Chris Eaton scored the unassisted game-winning tally
with :09 second remaining in the first overtime to
lead the men^Òs lacrosse team to a thrilling 14-13
win at Springfield College on Wednesday evening. The
Polar Bears break a three-game skid and improve to
2-3, while Springfield falls to 1-3.
After Springfield^Òs Taylor Brown scored the first goal of the game at 12:18 in the first period, Bowdoin went on a 7-2 run, including two of senior attackman Kyle Courtiss^Ò three goals to put Bowdoin up by four with 3:23 remaining in the second quarter. Springfield sophomore attackman Shawn Cofrin answered with two of his three goals to cut the Polar Bear lead to 7-6, heading into halftime. The Pride went on a 6-1 run including three goals by Brown, as SC took its largest lead of the game, 11-8, with 12:53 remaining in the fourth quarter. After both teams scored two goals apiece, Bowdoin scored three unanswered goals, including the game-tying tally by rookie midfielder Carl Klimpt with :43 second remaining in regulation, to send the game into overtime.
