Saint Lawrence vs. Hamilton

The Game Story:
Apr. 9: Clark Winterís goal with 13 seconds remaining in the game gave the Hamilton Continentals an 8-7 win over the home St. Lawrence Saints in Liberty League Lacrosse action at North Country Field Saturday afternoon. The Saints fall to 6-3 overall and 1-1 in league play. Hamilton improves to 8-1 overall and 2-0 in league play.

Jack Newton put the Continentals on the board first at 4:44 in the first quarter. Rob Kopp knotted the score at 1-1 for the Saints with just 2:34 to play in the opening quarter. The half remained scoreless and the teams headed into halftime at a 1-1 tie.

In the second half, the Saints got on the board first, when Andy Centauro scored to put St. Lawrence up 2-1 at 1:26. Hamilton came right back when Mike Daley scored at 2:15 in to the third. Kevin Russell pushed the Saints on top again at 8:04, but once again Hamilton answered. This time, it was Clark, with his first of the day at 10:58 in the quarter. The Saints scored twice to open the fourth, with goals from Derek Hansen and Centauro to take a 5-3 lead with 13:28 remaining in the game. Hamilton responded with four goals to take a 7-5 lead. Winter scored twice, with Jim Henry and Travis Modic also tallying for the Continentals. Modicís goal came with just 1:59 remaining in the game.

Centauro scored his third of the game with 1:16 to play to trim Hamiltonís lead to 7-6. Captain Alex Moore tied it up for the Saints with just 52 to play. But the Continentals responded as Clark scored with just 13 seconds to play to give Hamilton the win.

Justin Demuth finished with nine saves in the loss for the Saints. Ethan Shoemaker posted four saves in the win for Hamilton.
