| #2 Gettysburg Cruises To 13-4 Victory

St. Mary's City, Md. - Senior attack Pete Milliman (Rochester, NY) had three
goals and three assists and sophomore attack Jake Van Nostrand (Baldwin, NY)
added three goals and two assists in leading the second-ranked Gettysburg
College Bullets (4-0) to a 13-4 road victory over the Seahawks of St. Mary's
College (MD) on Wednesday afternoon.
With the game was tied 2-2 after the first period, the Bullets came out and
scored the first four goals of the second period for a 6-2 lead with 4:00
remaining in the first half. The Seahawks would score with 3:05 remaining in
the half on a goal by sophomore midfielder Doug Mayer (Crofton, MD) off an
assist from senior attack Andrew Toussaint (Potomac, MD), to cut the deficit to 6-3, but the Seahawks would not be able to get any closer the rest of the
contest. Van Nostrand would score with just ten seconds remaining in the half
to increase the lead at halftime to 7-3.
The Bullets would score three goals in the third period, two by Milliman, and
hold the Seahawks without a goal in the period to take a commanding 10-3 lead
heading into the final period. In the final period, the Bullets would score the first three goals to take a 13-3 lead with 11:16 remaining in the contest. The
Seahawks would score a late goal when freshman midfielder Ryan McCauley
(Crofton, MD) would score off an assist from Toussaint for the 13-4 final.
The Seahawks (1-5) will next be in action on Tuesday, March 19, when they host
Dickinson College. The game is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m.
