The Game Story:
HOBOKEN, N.J. (March 25, 2007) Ė Senior goalkeeper John Foley (Arthur, Ontario) came up huge in net while making 17 saves on the afternoon as the second-ranked Rochester Institute of Technology menís lacrosse team posted a 10-5 win over ninth-ranked Stevens Institute of Technology on Sunday at the De Baun Athletic Complex in Hoboken, N.J. Senior attack Dave DeMuth (Jordan, N.Y.) contributed three goals in the victory as the Tigers improved to 6-0 on the year.

Stevens (5-2) came out strong and quickly grabbed a 2-0 lead in the opening 4:10 of the game as junior attack J.R. Oreskovich (San Diego, Calif.) and senior midfielder Joe Van Sickle (Amherst, N.H.) found the back of the net. RIT responded with three straight goals to take a 3-2 lead. Junior midfielder Andrew Ruocco (Corning, N.Y.) tallied two of the three goals for the Tigers in that run.

Back-to-back goals by Van Sickle staked the Ducks to a 4-3 lead with 14:02 remaining in the second quarter. From that point on though, RITís defense settled down and limited Stevens to just one goal the rest of the game. The Tigersí offense also picked up the pace by out-scoring the Ducks 7-1 over the final 44:02 of game action.

Trailing 4-3 with just over eight minutes left in the second quarter, RIT scored four straight goals to take a 7-4 lead at intermission. DeMuthís second goal of the game, which came with 5:50 to play in the third quarter, extended the margin to 8-4 as the Tigers continued to pull away.

Van Sickle finished with three goals for the Ducks. Oreskovich totaled four points from a goal and three assists. Senior midfielder Mark Bielicky (Bridgewater, N.J.) recorded his 142nd career goal with 2.9 seconds remaining in the third quarter. That goal tied Bielicky with Brian Lalli (Cranbury, N.J.) for first place on the all-time list for career goals at Stevens. Lalli collected 142 goals and 54 assists (196 points) from 2001-04. Bielicky now has 191 career points.

Senior long-stick midfielder Shane Crossen (New Milford, Conn.) grabbed a team-high five ground balls against RIT. Senior defender Steven Suggs (Durham, N.C.) won five faceoffs in the game. Senior goalkeeper Jack Dunderdale (Ridgefield, Conn.) made 10 saves for the Ducks. Junior goalkeeper Corey Vaillancourt (Lincoln Park, N.J.) made a pair of saves while filling in for Dunderdale, who was serving a slashing penalty in the second quarter.

Ruocco contributed two goals and two assists. Junior midfielder Wes Adam (Lafayette, N.Y.) finished with two goals and three ground balls. Junior midfielder Jacob Brunner (Lafayette, N.Y.) was 10-for-18 in faceoffs and totaled a team-high six ground balls.

For the game, Stevens owned the edge in both shots (40-33) and ground balls (33-30). The Ducks were successful on 20 of 21 clearing attempts (95.2 percent). RIT converted 16 of 25 clears (64.0 percent). Both teams combined to go 0-for-9 in extra-man opportunities.

Stevens will be back in action on Wednesday as the Ducks hit the road to take on Skyline Conference rival Kean University at 7 p.m. That game will be played in Union, N.J.
