The Game Story:
SELINSGROVE, PA Sophomore Bobby Costa broke a 8-8 tie with 9:11 remaining as Susquehanna recorded its second straight victory with an 11-8 victory over DeSales in Middle Atlantic Conference action on Saturday afternoon.

Senior Scott Hodgson (Point Pleasant, NJ/Ramapo H.S.) finished with four goals while junior Justin Mason (Wilmington, DE/Tatnall School) scored three times as the Crusaders (2-1 overall, 1-0 MAC) let a 7-3 halftime lead slip away before putting away the Bulldogs (0-6 overall, 0-2 MAC) with three fourth-quarter goals.

Junior Dan St. Ours (Saco, ME/Thornton Academy) added two goals and three assists for Susquehanna while freshman Dan Kotch (Westfield, NJ/Westfield H.S.) had his second straight outstanding performance in goal for the Crusaders with 19 saves.

Patrick Stringer led DeSales with three goals while Ben Kelley and Charlie Mertz each finished with two goals and an assist.

Susquehanna led 3-2 after one quarter before breaking out for four second-quarter goals to take a 7-3 lead at the half. Hodgson and Mason each tallied twice in the first half while St. Ours added a goal and an assist and sophomore Matt Greene (Miller Place, NY/Pomfret School) scored his first goal of the season with 5:18 left in the second quarter.

DeSales outscored the Crusaders 4-1 in the third quarter, including a pair of goals by Stringer, to pull within 8-7 entering the fourth..

Mertz tied the score at 8-8 with 11:20 remaining, but Costa (Chatham, NJ/Chatham H.S.) scored his third of the season just two minutes later to give the Crusaders the lead for good. Mason and St. Ours added insurance tallies to secure the victory.
