The Game Story:
SELINSGROVE, Pa.. The Susquehanna University men's lacrosse team opened its 2008 home slate with a convincing 14-5 win over King's College Wednesday.

The Monarchs kept it close after one period with the Crusaders holding just a 5-2 advantage, but Susquehanna shut out King's for the next two periods while adding seven more goals to seal the victory. King's added three goals in the final period, as Susquehanna scored two more.

Greg Norris (St. Catharines, ON/Denis Morris), who scored the first goal of the game at 10:26 in the first, had three goals total on the day and an assist. Brett Brown (Cape Elizabeth, ME/Cape Elizabeth) added the second strike on his way to a two-goal, three-assist day.

Ryan Walters (Easton, PA/Easton), Fred Morse (Rochester, N.Y./Pittsford-Sutherland), Tim Storck (Cockeysville, Md./Dulaney) and Greg Burns (Charlotte, N.C./South Mecklenburg) each scored two goals for the Crusaders, and Sam Jayne (Alexandria, Va./T.C. Williams) had one. Morse, Walters, Dan Torie (Wexford, Pa./North Alleghany) and Matt Trimble (West Chester, Pa./Archmere Academy) each added an assist.

The Crusaders were 15-of-23 on faceoffs, with Walters going 7-of-9 and Brown 6-of-9. Rick Kondub (Stamford, Conn./King and Low-Heywood Thomas) led Susquehanna with six ground balls, while Brown and Torie each had five.

Kirk Ryan (Wayne, Pa./Radnor) played almost the entire game in goal, making eight saves for the win (2-0). Mike Finne (Westfield, N.J./Westfield) came in for the final 2:19 and made a stop.

Susquehanna opens Landmark Conference play on Saturday, hosting Scranton at 1 p.m.
