The Game Story:
SELINSGROVE, PA - Sean Thomson scored seven goals, including three in a decisive 7-2 second-quarter run, to lead Elizabethtown to a 14-6 victory over Susquehanna in Middle Atlantic Conference men?s lacrosse action Tuesday.

After the Crusaders (2-4, 0-3 MAC) jumped out to a 2-0 lead with first-quarter goals by senior Evan Dresser (Wynnewood, PA/Lower Merion H.S.) and sophomore Scott Hodgson (Wyckoff, NJ/Ramapo H.S.), Thomson scored twice in 59 seconds to tie the game at two.

Junior Andy Nadler (Westport, CT/Staples H.S.) fired home a shot to put Susquehanna up 3-2, but Elizabethtown (4-3, 3-1 MAC) took the lead when Thomson scored as the horn sounded to end the quarter and tallied again less than three minutes into the second quarter.

Following a Nadler goal that knotted the tilt at 4-4, the Blue Jays reeled off six unanswered goals to grab a 10-4 cushion, but Hodgson found the net with 56 left in the half to cut the deficit to five.

Elizabethtown used strong defensive play to hold the Crusaders to a single goal in the second half, and Matt Newell scored goals in both the third and fourth stanzas to increase his total to four on the day.

Nadler finished with three goals and freshman Dan St. Ours (Saco, ME/Thornton Academy) added three assists for the Crusaders, who were out-shot 38-29 by the Blue Jays. Elizabethtown converted four of six extra-man opportunities, while Susquehanna went scoreless on seven chances. The Crusaders scooped 40 ground balls and finished 6-of-13 on face-offs.

In goal for Susquehanna, sophomore Chad Denlinger (Lancaster, PA/Penn Manor H.S.) recorded 10 saves before being relieved by sophomore Todd Marquess (Philadelphia, PA/Penn Charter H.S.), who stopped one shot, while Brian Berke and Chris Swierczek combined to make 14 saves for Elizabethtown.
