| Nationally-ranked Franklin & Marshall College ran off seven straight goals in the first half on their way to an 11-6 victory over Swarthmore at Clothier Field on a stormy Saturday afternoon. The Diplomats' Kevin Kohl netted the first goal at the 14:17 mark and Garnet midfielder Ryan McKenna '07 (above) tied the score at 1-1, finishing off a pass from Tom Coughlin '05 with 10:32 to go in the first period. F&M put home the next seven scores to assume an 8-1 lead following Bobby Atkins' goal at the 11:19 mark in period number two. Coughlin put an end to the run, scoring an extra-man goal with 4:18 remaining and fellow senior Jeff Donlea put in his 20th goal of the season a minute later. The Diplomats added a score 55 seconds before the intermission, taking an 9-3 lead into halftime. Swarthmore scored the first two goals of the third period, one by Coughlin at 11:06 and another by McKenna in a man-up situation at 9:40. The contest was halted for 25 minutes with 6:51 left in the the third as a passing thunderstorm dumped torrents of rain onto Clothier Field. Play continued without further delay, yet the feverish goal-scoring pace came to a halt. Each team added a goal for the final margin. The final Swarthmore goal, an unassisted score by senior tri-captain Tim Chryssikos, was the 25th of the year by the Maryland native. Coughlin, another senior playing in his final game at Clothier Field, led Swarthmore (6-6, 2-4 CC) with four points on two goals and two assists. McKenna chipped in two goals and Chryssikos added a goal and an assist. Frank Mazzucco '08 made eight saves in goal for the Garnet. Swarthmore travels to 8th-ranked Washington College on Wednesday, April 27th for their next contest. The Garnet will match up with the 2004 national-finalist Shoremen in a 4:00 p.m. contest.
