Hamilton Deals Union A 17-10 Setback

Hamilton remained in the running for the UCAA's regular-season championship and the right to host the conference's postseason tournament as it defeated Union 17-10 on Frank Bailey Field. The Continentals improved their league record to 5-1 and are now 11-2 overall. On the other side of the coin, the loss left the Dutchmen with a circuit log of 1-4 and an overall record of 2-10. The conference's top four teams compete in the postseason tournament with the winner of the event earning the UCAA's automatic NCAA bid.

Adam Saltzman gave the Dutchmen a short-lived lead when he opened the scoring with a goal at 13:33. Hamilton's Matt Silverio tied the game four minutes later with the first of his four goals. Silverio's six points helped the Continentals take an 11-8 lead into intermission. Silverio continued his big night in the opening minutes of the second half to help Hamilton put the game away. He finished the game with 12 points on six goals and six assists. Dan Geiger contributed six points, which included four goals.

Mike Sparcio led the scoring for Union with a five-goal performance while Andy West contributed three goals and an assist. Sophomore Will Tamm had 14 saves for the Dutchmen while Jason Mleczko made seven saves for the win.
