The Game Story:
BIDDEFORD, Maine -- The University of New England scored the final five goals to break open a tight match and claim its first win of the season with a 13-6 victory over Clark University in a non-conference men's lacrosse game played Thursday afternoon.

The win snapped a three-game losing streak for the Nor'easters (1-3). The Cougars dropped their third straight to fall to 2-5.

After Clark drew within one (7-6) late in the third period, junior Jared Tetz (Kennebunk, Maine) scored a man-up goal with 2:17 remaining in the frame to give the Nor'easters an 8-6 lead.

Five different UNE players each scored one goal in the final quarter to help put the match away. The Nor'easters had a 12-3 advantage in ground balls during the final period to help their cause.

Sophomore Juan Lozano (Londonderry, N.H.) paced the Nor'easters with three goals, while Tetz, senior Ryan Rivard (East Freetown, Mass.) and first-year Doug Malloy (Londonderry, N.H.) netted two goals apiece.

Sophomore goalie A.J. Gagliardi (Branford, Conn.) made 13 saves to record his first collegiate victory. He also scored a goal in the second period.

Clark was led by first-year attack Andrew Webber (Allendale, N.J.), who had four goals and one assist. Junior Alan Green (Bloomfield Hills, Mich.) stopped 14 shots.

The Nor'easters will host Curry College on Saturday. The Cougars entertain Norwich University that same day.
