WNEC earned its third consecutive victory to improve to 5-2 overall, 4-0 in TCCC action. The Nor'easters suffered their fifth straight setback to drop to 2-6 overall, 0-3 in conference play.
Seniors Joe O'Keefe (Branford, Conn.) and Mike Santare (South Salem, N.Y.), junior Patrick White (Milford, Conn.) and sophomore Corrigan Harreys (Deep River, Conn.) each tallied a pair of goals to fuel a balanced WNEC attack. White also dished out two assists to register a match-best four points. Senior Josh Tullis (Medford, N.Y.) won 6 of 9 draws for the Golden Bears, who led 3-0 after a period and 8-1 at intermission.
First-year Dan O'Gorman (Putnam Valley, N.Y.) accounted for the Nor'easters' lone goal with a marker just before halftime. Junior Nate Porter (Cohasset, Mass.) was credited with 11 stops.
The Golden Bears return to action Monday when they travel to Medford, Mass. to take on the nation's top-ranked team -- Tufts University.
