|St. Lawrence defeats Vassar 15-4
Poughkeepsie, N.Y. (April 24, 2004) – Junior midfielder Alex Moore (Milford, Conn.) scored four goals to lead St. Lawrence University to a 15-4 Upstate Collegiate Athletic Association men's lacrosse victory over Vassar College Saturday afternoon at Prentiss Field.
St. Lawrence (10-2, 6-0 UCAA) led just 6-2 at the half, before dominating the third quarter 6-0 to take a commanding 12-2 lead.
Senior attacker Tim Loveless (Fulton, N.Y.) had three goals and an assist for the Saints. Freshman midfielder Andy Centauro (Sudbury, Mass.) and senior midfielder Chris Hanbury (Glastonbury, Conn.) had two goals apiece.
Vassar (3-9, 0-6 UCAA) was led by senior attacker Pat McAlpine (Centerport, N.Y.) with two goals. senior midfielder Justin Schrager (Santa Maria, Calif.) and freshman midfielder Steven Cataldo (W. Islip, N.Y.) also scored for the Brewers.
Freshman Will Widen (Glen Ridge, N.J.) made 21 saves for Vassar. Junior Brendan Dooley (Carthage, N.Y.) made eight stops for the Saints.
Vassar wraps up its season with a 4 p.m. match Wednesday at Manhattanville College.
