| No. 3 Men's Lacrosse Hosts CAC Rival Mary Washington in Home Opener OWINGS MILLS, Md. - Despite the six inches of snow that fell in the Baltimore area on Monday night, the No. 3-ranked Stevenson men's lacrosse team will still make its scheduled home debut on Wednesday when it hosts a CAC contest with Mary Washington at Caves Athletics Complex beginning at 3:00 p.m. The Mustangs (1-0) boast a record of 38-6 at home and a mark of 26-4 since joining the CAC prior to the 2007 season. They are also 11-4 all-time against Mary Washington and have won seven-straight in the series. Stevenson is coming off an 11-4 road victory at No. 7 Haverford on Saturday, improved its record to 7-0 in season openers under head coach Paul Cantabene. Junior Ian Bolland (Mountain Lakes, N.J./Mountain Lakes) tied his career-high with 16 saves while senior Kyle Moffitt (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin East) had three goals and senior Evan Douglass (Exeter, N.H./Exeter) also finished with four of the team's eight caused turnovers. Senior Jimmy Dailey (Westminster/Winters Mill) added a goal and two assists and junior Justin Lea (Elkridge/Mount Saint Joseph) also added three points, a new career-high, with two goals and one assist. Wednesday will mark the third game of the season for Mary Washington (1-1) and the first on the road after the team opened the year with an 8-7 win over Virginia Wesleyan before falling to Hampden-Sydney, 13-10. Stevenson won last year's meeting on the road in the CAC opener for both teams, 11-4 on Mar. 25, 2010. In the last meeting at Caves Athletics Complex, the Mustangs won 17-4 behind three goals and three assists from Dailey. |
