|Owings Mills, MD- The Mustangs hosted the Neumann College Knights in their last home game of the season. Villa Julie out-shot Neumann 81-8, grabbed 72 groundballs to Neumann's 23, and won 29 of 34 face-offs.|
In the first quarter, Kevin Donnelly (Laurel, MD / St. Vincent Pallotti HS / Greensboro) set the tone of the game, scoring at the 14:53 mark assisted by Jimmy Dailey (Westminster, MD / Winter Mills HS). The Mustangs continued to score eight more goals in the quarter while the Knights were scoreless, 9-0.
The Mustangs maintained their attack in the second quarter. Villa Julie grabbed 10 goals, preventing any from Neumann for the half, 19-0.
In the second half, Villa scored five goals in the third quarter, 24-0. Neumann made their first appearance on the scoreboard in the fourth quarter at 12:36, followed by another Neumann goal at 11:33. The Mustangs defense prevented any more goals, while the attack scored four more for a final of 28-2.
Scoring for the Mustangs were Kevin Donnelly with five goals; Shane Clift (Westminster, MD / North Carroll HS) with four goals and three assists; Greg Furshman (Miami, FL / Towson University) with four goals and one assist; Andrew White (Cockeysville, MD / Loyola HS) with three goals and one assist; Chris Baldwin (Baltimore, MD / Calvert Hall HS / USNA) with three goals; Jimmy Dailey with two goals and three assists; Seth Hidey (Sykesville, MD / South Carroll HS / Howard CC) with two goals and one assist; Matt Lafferty (Cockeysville, MD / Dulaney HS) with two goals and one assist; and Robert Guill (Clifton, VA / Westfield HS / Essex CC), Justin Donoghue (Joppa, MD / Joppatowne HS / Hartford CC), and Matt Miller (Denver, CO / George Washington HS / Essex CC) with one goal each.
The Mustangs return to the field on Saturday, May 5 at Stevens Institute of Technology at 1:00 p.m.
