Kaski Scores Game-Winner with 12.8 Seconds Left
CHESTERTOWN, MD -- Junior attackman Shane Kaski (Richmond, VA/Midlothian) scored the game-tying goal with 1:50 remaining and the game-winning goal with 12.8 seconds left as host Washington College topped visiting McDaniel, 9-8, in a Centennial Conference men's lacrosse game this afternoon on Kibler Field at Roy Kirby, Jr. Stadium. The Shoremen improved to 3-3 overall and 1-1 in conference play with the win, while the Green Terror fell to 2-3 and 0-1 with the loss.
The Shoremen held a 3-1 lead after the first quarter, but McDaniel evened the score at 3-3 by netting the first two goals of the second. The Shoremen regained the lead when junior midfielder Doug Herdegen (Baltimore, MD/Archbishop Curley) scored off an assist from sophomore midfielder Dave Lundquist (West Chester, PA/Henderson) with 39 seconds remaining before halftime. The Green Terror evened the score at 4-4 when Nicholas DiBernardo found Gibbs Preston open on the crease for a goal with seven seconds left in the second quarter.
