| LEXINGTON, Va. — Senior attackman Jack Murray (Earlysville, Va./Albemarle) scored off an assist from senior attackman Gavin Molinelli (Northport, N.Y./Northport) with 1:49 remaining in overtime to lift fourth-ranked Washington and Lee to a 7-6 win over Franklin & Marshall in men's lacrosse action on Saturday evening at the W&L Turf Field. The Generals (4-0) extended a 2-1 halftime advantage with goals by sophomore attackman Grant Martin (Towson, Md./Calvert Hall) and sophomore defenseman Peter Goodwin (Darien, Conn./Darien) coming just 32 seconds apart. The Diplomats (2-1) responded with an unassisted tally by senior midfielder Colin Hanley (Davidsonville, Md./DeMatha) at the 11:52 mark of the third period, but W&L went up 5-2 with 9:55 remaining on another goal by Martin. F&M began the fourth quarter by scoring three straight goals to tie the game at 5-5 with 9:50 remaining, but the Generals again took the lead on a man-up goal by sophomore midfielder Matt Arcati (Lloyd Harbor, N.Y./Cold Spring Harbor) off an assist from Molinelli with 7:52 remaining. The Generals held the lead until 37 seconds remained in regulation when freshman attackman Noah Wilkinsky (Ardmore, Pa./Valley Forge Military) found the net off an assist from senior attackman Steve Welsh (Lewes, Del./Cape Henlopen). The Generals were whistled for a foul shortly thereafter and the Diplomats began the extra session with a man-up opportunity. W&L sophomore goalkeeper Chris Lalli (Cranbury, N.J./Princeton) posted one save in the overtime period and Murray scored the game-winner off the Generals' final clear. Molinelli led W&L with four assists, while Martin notched two goals. Lalli posted 11 saves in goal. F&M was paced by Hanley's two goals.
