The Nor'Easters got their first goal of the game 2:17 into the second period on an unassisted goal by freshman attacker Kenny Gates (Cranston, R.I.). However, the Leopards would score the next five goals of the quarter, including two by junior midfielder Joe Marcel (Levittown, N.Y.) and led 14-1 after the first half of play.
Wentworth would outscore the visitors, 3-2 in the third period, as senior attacker Adam Kensiton (Plainville, Mass.), junior midfielder Jason Bornhorst (Waterville, Vt.), and junior midfielder Mark Hoffman (Saugus, Mass.) scored for Wentworth, while UNE got goals from senior attacker Matt Vieira (South Paris, Maine) and senior midfielder Ryan Rivard (East Freetown, Mass.).
The Leopards scored the first two goals of the fourth quarter, on freshman midfielder Andy Kantorski's (Sherborn, Mass.) first two collegiate goals to take a 19-3 lead. The Nor'Easters got goals from senior midfielder Tucker Williamson (Underhill, Vt.) and Vieira to round out the scoring.
