Wolverines to Host 1st Round Game
Wesley Defeats Villa Julie, 13-11 in Thriller
Stevenson, MD - Wesley College (8-5, 5-1) earned the #2 seed in the upcoming Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) men's lacrosse tournament by defeating Villa Julie College (9-4, 4-2) by a final score of 13-11 on Saturday afternoon. With the win, the Wolverines will host Villa Julie on Wednesday, May 4th starting at 4:00. Villa Julie will be the #3 seed in the tournament.

In Saturday's game, Wesley jumped on top with a steady offensive attack early, going into halftime up 7-3. Villa Julie went on to out-score the Wolverines 6-1 in the third quarter, winning 6-of-8 face-offs to help the Mustangs to a 9-8 advantage after three quarters. Villa Julie continued their offensive attack by posting goals at the 11:42 and 9:56 mark in the 4th quarter to go up 11-8. With 6:23 to go in the game, Wesley's Jason Schatz (Springfield, PA/Springfield) scored on an assist by Chris Miller to start a streak of 5 unanswered goals. Miller scored on an unassisted goal with 1:28 remaining to put Wesley up 12-11 and Mark Skakle (Columbia, MD/Long Reach) scored with 27 seconds to seal the win for Wesley.

Skakle led Wesley with 5 goals and 1 assist, while Miller, Dean Evans (Moorestown, NJ/Moorestown) and Pete Moran (Lindenhurst, NY/Kellenberg Memorial) each posted 2 goals apiece. Miller added 4 assists for the Wolverines.
