Westminster, MD --- McDaniel Cruises Past Fords
Rob Weaver assisted on six goals and scored a pair of his own as McDaniel College cruised past Haverford College, 18-3, in Centennial Conference menís lacrosse action on Wednesday.
Weaver set up Alex Tolj and Sam Katz just 25-seconds apart early in the first quarter to spark the McDaniel offensive explosion. Donnie White scored 48-seconds later to give the Green Terror a 3-0 lead with 11:02 left in the first quarter. Joe Ellis scored the first of his three goals with 6:48 left in the same quarter, which turned out to be the game-winner. Nine different players found the back of the net for the Green Terror, who out-shot the Fords 47-19 in the game. Haverford goalie, John Michal came up with 16 stops in the face of relentless McDaniel pressure.
With the win, McDaniel improves to 4-0, 1-0 on the season, while Haverford drops to 1-3, 0-1. McDaniel returns to action on Saturday, when the Green Terror travels to Kingís Point, New York, to take on the Merchant Marine Academy. That game is set for a noon start.
