| SPRINGFIELD, Mass. ^× Western New England College clinched the Pilgrim
League West Division title with a 13-9 win over visiting Massachusetts
Institute of Technology on Senior Day at rainy Golden Bear Stadium.
Senior Randy Milou (Ambler, PA) led the Golden Bears with five goals and two assists, passing the 100 point mark in the process. Milou now has 105 career points (77 goals, 28 assists). Junior Marco Le Gette (Severna Park, MD) added four goals and an assist while freshman Joe Cassani (Barre, VT) had two scores. Also playing their final regular season game were Tim Cinque (Lynbrook, NY) who had a goal and four assists, Patrick Dabrowski (Baltimore, MD) who made 16 saves, Dan Gildart (Portland, ME), and Nick Salvatori (Barre, VT) who had a goal and assist. With the score tied at 7-7, Salvatori had the game winning goal with 2:22 remaining in the third period. Sophomores Carter Powers (Brentwood, TN) and Issac Taylor (Woodstock, VT) led the Engineers (5-5, 2-4) with four goals apiece. Taylor also added an assist. WNEC (7-8, 5-1) will host Babson College at 4 p.m. Wednesday (April 30) in a semifinal game of the Pilgrim League Tournament. |
