The Game Story:
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. Senior CJ Annunciata (Waltham, MA) scored four goals to lead Western New England College to a 14-5 victory over visiting Union College (N.Y.) in a non-league game.

Senior Patrick Matthews (Middle Island, NY) passed the 100-point mark in career scoring with two goals and an assist, which gave him 102 points.

Junior Joe Cassani (Barre, VT) and sophomore Adam Cherry (Westfield, MA) also scored twice for the Golden Bears who improved their record to 2-0.

Western New England College led 7-5 after three quarters before breaking the game open with seven unanswered goals in the final period, including two by Annunciata in a 1:57 span at the 10:11 and 8:14 marks.

Freshmen Kelley Luchs (Glastonbury, CT) and Gary Schuldt (Yorktown Heights, NY) each scored their first collegiate goals while freshman Bryan Cofrin (Londonderry, NH) chipped in with two assists. Freshman goalie Chris Body (Newtown, CT) finished with 11 saves.

Senior Andy West (Salem, NH) led the Dutchmen (1-2) with two goals while junior Dan Myerow (Sudbury, MA) had a goal and three assists.

Western New England College out-shot Union by a 43-24 margin. The game started 90 minutes late due to a flat tire on the Union bus on the Massachusetts Turnpike.
