| 3/24/07 -- Widener permitted three second-quarter goals and fell short in a 6-4 Middle Atlantic Conference loss to Messiah at Leslie C. Quick Jr. Stadium. Alex Finch scored twice in the second quarter and Tim Sandusky netted one to give Messiah (1-3, 1-0 MAC) a 4-2 halftime lead. Senior Gavin Goane (Springfield, PA) scored the third quarter’s lone goal as Widener (2-3, 0-2) closed to 4-3. But Finch tallied his third of the contest in the fourth quarter and Nick Ricucci also scored in the period for a 6-3 Falcons lead. Andrew Collins tallied for Messiah, Ryan Finch had five ground balls and Ted Oberg made seven saves. Goane and junior Luke Weber (Lititz, PA) scored twice and senior Andrew Johnson (Wallingford, PA) had 12 saves for the Pride. Widener is home Tuesday to face Drew, beginning at 7:00 pm. |
