The Game Story:
4/5/08 -- Widener took control in the first quarter and never looked back, rolling to a 15-4 Middle Atlantic Conference triumph over Elizabethtown for its third straight victory at Leslie C. Quick Jr. Stadium.

Seniors Brian Stromko (Maplewood, NJ) and Clint Quedenfeld (Chalfont, PA) each scored twice in the opening quarter, when Widener built a 6-1 lead. Senior Chris Matthews (Drexel Hill, PA) and freshman Andrew Janusz (Easton, PA) also tallied in the frame.

Stromko, Quedenfeld, Janusz, senior Luke Weber (Lititz, PA) and sophomore Cory Malampy (Ridley, PA) all scored twice for the Pride (5-5, 2-0 MAC).

Quedenfeld dished three assists with Weber and Malampy adding two assists apiece for Widener, which owned a 15-5 shots edge in the first quarter and 46-25 overall. Weber won 12-of-15 faceoffs and senior Tim Collins (Yorktown Heights, NY) made nine saves in 53 minutes.

Aaron Weber and Jon Day each scored twice for the Blue Jays (2-7, 0-2) and Hunter Malick made 11 saves over 45 minutes.

Widener on Wednesday visits FDU-Florham, beginning at 7:00 pm in Madison, NJ.
