The Game Story:
Williamstown, MA- The men's lacrosse team held Roger Williams University scoreless for the entire 1st half on the way to a dominating 16-2 victory over the Hawks. Williams (4-4 overall, 1-3 in NESCAC) amassed a 9 goal lead three minutes into the 3rd quarter before Chris Edwards would open the scoring for the Hawks. Chris Merwin led the Ephs in scoring with 4 goals and 1 assist. The junior midfielder was also dominant on face-offs.

A string of four unassisted goals by Jamie Lee, Chris Merwin, Mike Vrla, and Andy Bisset opened the game for Williams. Starting defenseman Bisset took the ball the entire length of the field before firing a shot past goalie Bobby Hensley, who finished with 19 saves.

Dixon Hargrove then assisted on two goals, followed by tallies from Andy Camposeo and Chris Merwin before the close of the 1st half. The Ephs went into halftime with an 8-0 lead, having outshot the Hawks by a margin of 26-8.

Mike Vrla opened scoring in the 3rd quarter with his 2nd unassisted goal of the game. Chris Edwards of Roger Williams made his unassisted score on a fast break just 20 seconds later. Williams put away any hopes of a comeback by scoring the next four goals, safely putting the game away before a 20-minute lightning delay late in the 3rd quarter.

Joe Truncellito assisted a Geoff Tucker goal for Roger Williams with 10:58 remaining in the game. Chris Merwin, Billy Kelly, and Andy Camposeo scored the final three goals of the game.
