April 19, 2008
The Game Story:
WOOSTER, Ohio Eleven different players scored goals as The College of Wooster cruised to a 21-2 victory over winless Oberlin College in North Coast Athletic Conference action at John P. Papp Stadium Saturday.

It marked the final home game for eight Wooster seniors Dan Adair, Matt Biester, Conor Hannan, Greg Lentz, Chris Nixon, Jordan Sawkin, Cole Simmons, and Kyle Story.

Wooster (9-2, 1-2 NCAC) was simply too much for Oberlin (0-8, 0-4 NCAC) from start-to-finish. The Fighting Scots scored once in each of the first two minutes of the action. The Yeomen did make it 2-1 a few minutes later, only to see Wooster go on a five-goal run to end the first quarter up 7-1.

Oberlin tallied the first score of the second, but again, the Scots responded with a big run, this time seven-straight goals, including four over a :49 time period during the middle of the quarter, and went into halftime ahead 14-2.

The second half was a mere formality.

Overall, Wooster outshot Oberlin 60-16 and won 18 of 27 face-offs.

Individually, Mark Weschler fired in four goals and assisted on another for a five-point day, while Chris Curran, Alex Mies, and Matt Pullara contributed two goals apiece. Also noteworthy, Pat Coyne and Hannan each had one goal and one assist.

Biester came up with four saves during the first three quarters before being pulled early in the fourth to a nice ovation.

The Scots will play at Tri-State University (1-9) on Tuesday at 1 p.m.
