The Mustangs scored three goals in the first and fourth periods to stay ahead of Brockport. The Golden Eagles controlled nearly every offensive category including shots. Morrisville built a 4-1 lead in the second period until Alex Austin (Rochester, NY/Trinity-Pawling) scored his first goal of the game. Just over a minute later, Austin assisted on Elliot's second goal of the game as Brockport took advantage of the extra-man opportunity and trailed by just one. After another goal by Morrisville, Elliot found the back of the net for the third time of the game with just 30 seconds left in the second period as Brockport went into halftime trailing 5-4.

Brockport wasted no time scoring to open the second half as Austin found Matt Andon-McLane (Syracuse, NY/Nottingham) on a man-up advantage one minute into the period to tie the score at five. Morrisville scored the next two goals as Brockport went scoreless for the remainder of the period.

Riley Austin (Rochester, NY/Eastridge) started the scoring in the fourth period with a man-down goal on an assist from Andon-Mclane. The Mustangs responded with two goals in one minute to pull away. Elliot scored his final goal of the game at the 8:47 mark on an assist from Riley Austin. Trailing 10-7, Clifton Jackson (Snyder, NY/Amherst) scored on an assist from Alex Austin, but the Golden Eagles scoring ended there.
