Suny Brockport vs. Morrisville

The Game Story:
Junior Kyle Baker (Watertown, NY/Immaculate Heart) scored four second half goals as the SUNY Brockport Menís Lacrosse team opened up a close game in the second half to defeat Morrisville State College, 12-4 in a non-league contest at Special Olympics Stadium in Brockport.

Brockport (7-5 overall) held a slim 2-1 lead at halftime before scoring seven times in the third quarter to open up a commanding 9-1 lead. The Golden Eagles added the first two goals of the fourth quarter to extend the lead before Morrisville (0-10) scored the final three goals of the game for the final margin.

Brad Olzinski (Johnson City, NY/Union Endicott) opened the scoring for the Golden Eagles and Morrisville tied the game with 39 seconds left in the opening quarter on a man-up goal. Freshman Erich Skelly (Grand Island, NY/Grand Island) scored his first career goal for the only goal in the second quarter as Brockport took a 2-1 lead.

Aaron Rivers (Watertown, NY/Watertown) and Baker led off the second half run for the Golden Eagles with goals nearly a minute apart with just over 10 minutes to play in the third quarter. Brockport tacked on five goals in the last eight minutes of the third quarter with Baker picking up his second of the game and freshman Adam Drypolcher (Manlius, NY/Fayetteville-Manlius) scoring twice.

Baker opened the fourth with his third of the game 33 seconds into the final quarter and scored his fourth of the game two minutes later.

Brockport outshot Morrisville 55-16 and held a 43-19 advantage in groundballs. The Golden Eagles won 16-of-20 face-offs and was 3-for-4 in man-up situations. Morrisville was only able to take advantage of three of its man-up opportunities.

Baker led Brockport with four points on his four goals while Drypolcher added two goals and an assist and freshman Pat Reilly (Fairport, NY/Fairport) added a goal and two assists. There were 13 different Golden Eagles that made it into the points column.
