The Game Story:
ST. DAVIDS, Pa. Ė Dane Mangin (Willow Grove, PA/Archbishop Wood) and Mike Stein (Springfield, PA/Springfield) combined for 12 points to lead Ursinus over Eastern 17-1 in non-conference menís lacrosse action on Wednesday.

Mangin scored a team-high five goals and added an assist, while Stein recorded four goals and two assists. Mangin netted a natural hat trick in the Bearsí (0-1) eight-goal second quarter, turning a 4-0 lead into a 12-0 halftime cushion.

Seth Bakes (Barto, PA/Boyertown) and Justin Reinke (Setauket, NY/Ward Melville) each added two goals, while Greg Bacak (Sellersville, PA/Pennridge) and Jason Orlando (Morton, PA/Springfield) scored their first collegiate goals.

Michael Ryan tallied the lone goal for the Eagles (0-2) while goalie Zach Rivest recorded 32 saves on Ursinusí 49 shots.

Bakes put the Bears on the board at the 10:25 mark of the first quarter and turned around to assist Stein for an early 2-0 lead. Mangin followed in Bakes footsteps and scored his first goal of the game with 2:07 left in the first, before assisting Stein to make it 4-0.

In similar fashion to the first 15 minutes, Bakes darted out in the second quarter and added his second goal of the afternoon on a pass from Nick Shriver (Braintree, VT/Randolph-Union). Reinke struck at the 13:13 mark, before Mangin sandwiched two goals in between one from Stein.

The freshmen duo Bacak and Brian Boorse (Center Valley, PA/Lehigh) made goal number 10 happen off an Eastern turnover. Anthony Tori (Springfield, PA/Springfield) found the back of the net from Stein and Shriver got his second assist on Manginís fourth goal with 1:54 remaining to conclude a near perfect first half.

Ursinus tacked on five more goals in the second half, including one from Eduardo Ramos (E. Brunswick, NJ/E. Brunswick) on a pass from Jason Paterson (West Chester, PA/Unionville) for his first collegiate assist.

The Eagles halted the Bears shut out with an unassisted goal by Ryan in the fourth quarter for the final margin.

Matt Orlando (Morton, PA/Springfield) made four saves on five shots in the season opener, while Mike Tori (Springfield, PA/Springfield) collected his first two collegiate assists.

Ursinus returns to action on Saturday against Alvernia. Game time is 1 p.m.
