The Game Story:
GORHAM, Maine. - Senior Matt Kowalsky (Newington, Conn.) scored four goals and added a pair of assists, while junior Brian Hebron (Hicksville, N.Y.) added one goal and four assists to lead the Eastern Connecticut State University Warriors to a 15-3 Little East Conference triumph over the University of Southern Maine Huskies in the regular season finale for each squad on Saturday afternoon.

Triumphant in seven consecutive games, Eastern Connecticut enters the postseason with an overall mark of 9-5 and a league ledger of 6-0. The Warriors will serve as the number-one seed in the conference tournament, and will host a semifinal round game on Thursday. Southern Maine, which falls to 5-7 and 2-4, will play a first round tournament game on Tuesday.

The Warriors received goals from five players en route to a 5-1 lead after one quarter, and increased their margin to 10-2 at the break. Eastern Connecticut outscored Southern Maine by a 4-1 margin in the third quarter, and netted the lone goal of the fourth quarter.

Southern Maine received goals from junior Matt Butler (Barnstable, Mass.), sophomore Mark Bubier (Greene, Maine) and junior Mark St. John (Cape Elizabeth, Maine). Junior Ben Sylvia (Bristol, Maine) and St. John added assists.

Eastern Connecticut received goals from 10 players. Senior Bill Morgan (Windsor, Conn.) had two goals and added two assists, while freshman Kyle MacDonald (Hamden, Conn.) added a goal and two assists.

Sophomore Jeff Lamoureux (Walpole, Mass.) had 12 saves for the Huskies through three quarters, and junior Mark Morissette (Wales, Maine) stopped five shots in the four quarter. For Eastern Connecticut, freshman Chris Harinsky (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.), senior Brian Zimowski (Somers, Conn.) and Will Holland (Kent, Conn.) combined for two saves.
