| GORHAM, Maine -- Sophomore attack Sam Chidester (Eliot,
Maine) scored five goals and passed out two assists to lead the
Endicott College Power Gulls to an 18-3 win over the University of
Southern Maine Huskies in a non-conference men's lacrosse game
Thursday afternoon at Paula Hodgdon Field.
Endicott won its fourth straight game to improve to 5-2 overall. The Power Gulls travel to Salem State on Saturday for their next game. Southern Maine dropped its third straight game to slip to 2-3 overall. The Huskies will host UMass Dartmouth in their first Little East Conference game on Saturday. Freshman middie Kevin Lally (Derry, N.H.) and senior attack Andre Digou (Salem, Mass.) each added four goals and an assist for the Power Gulls, who never trailed in the game. Endicott took a 3-0 lead in the first quarter on goals by Chidester, senior Bob Cory (New York, N.Y.) and Lally. Lally added two more scores before Chidester netted three straight goals in the second quarter to make it 8-0 at halftime. Southern Maine finally got on the board in the third period on a goal by sophomore attack Jon Gagne (Eliot, Maine). The Huskies got fourth quarter goals by sophomore attack Sean Favreau (Sabattus, Maine) and senior midfielder Tobey Farrington (Scarborough, Maine). Endicott goalies Ryan Walsh (Weymouth, Mass.), Adam Partaledis (Malden, Mass.) and David Salotti (Geneva, N.Y.) combined to make nine saves. Sophomore Mark Morissette (Wales, Maine) stopped 17 shots for Southern Maine. |
