| ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- Elizabethtown dropped to 2-7 overall and 2-2 in the Middle Atlantic Conference with a 14-8 home loss to Messiah College Wednesday. Messiah improves to 3-4 overall and 3-1 in the MAC with the victory. Messiah took a 4-2 lead by the end of the first quarter and led 8-3 at halftime. The Falcons out-shot Etown 42-37 and held a 41-36 advantage in ground balls. Frankie Puzzangara (Wallingford, PA/Strath Haven) scored five goals and had nine ground balls to lead the Blue Jays in both categories. Matt Seiboth (Havertown, PA/Haverford) led Etown in assists with four. Defender Gary Senese (West Chester, PA/Tatnall School) scored one goal and had seven ground balls, and Chris Harrison (Newark, DE/Salesanium) scored one goal for Elizabethtown. Reid Allison (Ridgefield, CT/Ridgefield) and Brad Whitcomb (Taneytown, MD/Francis Scott Key) each had one assist for the Blue Jays. Nick Ricucci (Germantown, MD/Seneca Valley) led Messiah in goals with four and had one assist. Hamilton Anderson (Kirkland, WA/Lake Washington) scored two goals and posted a team high total of four assists for the Falcons. Jeff Ziegler (Taneytown, MD/Francis Scott Key) scored two goals and had one assist, and Dennis Erb (Lancaster, PA/Hempfield) scored two goals as well for Messiah. Adam Myers (Fallston, MD/Fallston) had one goal and one assist for the Falcons, while Pete McLean (Toledo, OH/Culver M.A., IN), Tim Sandusky (Fulton, MD/Chapelgate Christian) and Tosh Tryon (Rehoboth Beach, DE/Worcester Prep.) each scored one goal for Messiah. Elizabethtown will return to action on the road Saturday, April 8 at FDU-Florham in a 1:00 p.m. Middle Atlantic Conference game. |
