March 24, 2012
The Game Story:
The St. John Fisher College men's lacrosse team defeated the SUNY Oneonta Red Dragons by a 16-7 score on Saturday afternoon. Fisher (3-2) was backed by seniors Connor Henderson and Mitch Ritchie, who both scored nine points on the day, as they were each just one shy from the school record for points in a game.

The Cardinals jumped out to a 4-1 lead to open the game, as Fisher's Ritchie recorded a hat trick just 7:52 into the contest. Henderson scored the first Fisher goal, while Ritchie followed with three of his five goals during the span.

With Henderson's goal, Fisher would lead the rest of the way as the Red Dragons (1-5) were never able to overcome the deficit at Growney Stadium.

Kory Smart, Joe Gaug and Ritchie added goals for the Cardinals over the remaining minutes of the quarter to hold a 7-2 advantage after the first 15.

The Cardinals allowed just two goals in each of the first three quarters as Fisher held substantial leads of 11-4 at the half and 14-6 after the third. The Red Dragons would only be able to muster a single goal in the final stanza.

Henderson finished the contest with three goals and a season-high six assists, while Ritchie added four assists in addition to his five goals. Michael Boisvert scored his first career hat trick in the game, while Bryan Dyer and Mike Byrnes both contributed two points on one goal and one assist.

Eric Klein added a goal and Nick Rossi tallied his first assist in the game. Jamie Campagna made 12 saves in the winning effort.

The Cardinals will return to action at 4 p.m. on Wednesday when they travel to SUNY Geneseo to face the Knights.
