| Reading, Pa. (April 17, 2010) - Lycoming College (7-5, 5-2) jumped out to a 5-0 lead after one quarter en route to a 12-3 win over Alvernia University (3-10, 0-7) Saturday afternoon in Middle Atlantic Conference men's lacrosse action at Schlager Memorial Field. The Warriors got scoring from eight different players led by Tom Lurie who netted a hat trick. The Crusaders got a pair from Dan Hoffstetter (Center Valley, Pa./Southern Lehigh) and one from Chris Baker (Exeter, Pa./Exeter). Hoffstetter also added an assist. Lycoming finished with a 32-19 advantage in shots and won 13-of-19 faceoffs. The Warriors split time in net and finished with seven total saves while Kevin Shupp (Cranford, N.J./Cranford) stopped a dozen for the Crusaders. Alvernia continues the conference schedule at Lebanon Valley next Wednesday. |
