The Game Story:
Reading, Pa. (Mar. 31, 2007) – Sophomore Tom Fraker (Carlisle, PA/Carlisle) scored two of his game-high four goals in the fourth quarter to lead Alvernia College to a 12-5 win over Mt. St. Vincent in non-conference men’s lacrosse action Saturday afternoon at Schlager Memorial Field.

Junior Tom Novak (Pottstown, PA/Pottsgrove) scored three goals for the Crusaders (3-5) and five other players scored a goal each for Alvernia including Mike Urie (Phoenixville, PA/St. Pius X) and Adam Schmidt (Allentown, PA/Parkland) who each notched their first career goal.

Alvernia got on the board with Fraker scored his 16th goal of the season at 6:53. The sophomore attack won the ensuing faceoff and tore off down the field to knot the game at 2-all just 13 seconds later.

Schmidt’s goal, assisted by Novak put Alvernia up for good and the Crusaders added two more goals in the first quarter for a 5-2 lead after the opening 15 minutes. Both teams scored twice in the second quarter and neither team found the back of the net in the third. Novak scored number 22 and number 23 on the season to open the fourth and the Crusaders cruised to the 12-5 win.

Freshman goalie Mark Lenahan (New Providence, NJ/New Providence) made six saves in net for the Crusaders and Ryan Richard (Frankford, DE/Sussex Tech) added another.
