The Game Story:

Reading, Pa. (Mar. 19, 2013) - Junior Colin Gallagher (Sinking Spring, Pa./Wilson) scored a game-high five goals to lead Alvernia University (4-4) to a 16-3 win over Bryn Athyn College (1-2) Tuesday evening in non-conference men's lacrosse action at Schlager Memorial Field.

Gallagher scored the first goal of the game unassisted and the Crusaders scored the first four goals of the game. Bryn Athyn broke through in the final minute of the first quarter, then scored two of the first three goals in the second to pull within two goals, 5-3.

Gallagher then netted back-to-back goals and Paul Tarnacki (Howell, N.J./Howell) scored in the first seconds of the quarter to put the Crusaders up 8-3 at the half. Gallagher led the way with four first-half goals for the Crusaders.

Alvernia scored five more in the third quarter for a 13-3 lead then closed out the game with three goals in the final quarter.

Tarnacki, Brian Ray (Cranford, N.J./Cranford), and Jared Toll (St. Catherines, Ontario/Lewisburg Area) all finished with three goals apiece. Brandon Weaver (Shillington, Pa./Governor Mifflin) made seven saves for the win.

Alvernia will travel to Arcadia on Saturday to open the conference schedule.
