The Game Story:
Yonkers, N.Y. – The College of Mount Saint Vincent Men's Lacrosse squad dropped its third straight contest on Wednesday, falling to league rival Kean by a score of 16-2. Sophomore Bruce Pappas (Montrose, N.Y.) scored both goals and freshman Frank Maddaloni (Bronx, N.Y.) picked up six groundballs for the Dolphins.

Pappas got the Dolphins on the board first in the contest with his 21st tally of the season just over three minutes into the game. Kean would quickly tie the score on Richard Cheifitz's first of three in the game and would go on to score the next 13 goals in the game.

The Cougars would score five goals in each of the last three quarters and would hold the Mount off the board until Pappas found the back of the cage off a feed from Ahmed Ajao with 4:26 to play in the game.

Kean featured a balanced scoring attack in the game that saw 11 different players find their way into the scoring column. Cheifitz led the way with three goals and an assist and was one of four players with at least two markers in the game.

Jonathan Foss led the Cougars with six groundballs and also had an effective day in face-offs after going 10-for-12. Nicholas Cestaro scooped five groundballs for Kean and added an assist.

Pappas sits third on the team in goals with 22 on the season after his two on Wednesday and has climbed to second on the team in points with 31. Pappas also picked up two groundballs and won a face-off for the Dolphins.

Maddaloni led the team and matched the game-high with six groundballs and stands second on the team in the category with 70. Larry Caputo (Hicksville, N.Y.) added five groundballs for the Dolphins and Dan Cohen (Ardsley, N.Y.) scooped four.

Ajao added to his team-high assist total with his helper on Wednesday and paces the Mount with 19 assists on the season. He also chipped in with a groundball against the Cougars.

Kyle Kalibat (Oceanside, N.Y.) recorded at least 10 saves in a game for the 12th time this season and made eight of his 11 stops on Wednesday in the opening stanza. He finished the night with two groundballs. Lane Zierten saw the bulk of action for Kean who used four net minders. He earned the win after stopping seven shots.

Kean finished the night with a 55-25 advantage in shots on Wednesday and a 47-36 edge in groundballs. The Cougars won 15 of the 22 face-offs taken in the contest and finished the night 3-for-5 in extra man chances.

Wednesday's loss drops Mount Saint Vincent back to the .500 mark overall at 7-7 and to 0-3 against league opponents. The Dolphins will look to regroup on April 11 when they play host to Mount Saint Mary. Face-off for the annual Senior Night game is slated for 7:00 p.m. at Tibbetts Brook Park.
