Shea found the back of the cage with just under 6:00 left in the opening stanza, before Misericordia reeled off two more tallies in the final 3:00 to take a 5-1 lead into the second quarter.

Freshman Rowan Frederick (Brooklyn, N.Y.) opened the scoring in the second period as the two teams traded goals heading into halftime. A Dean Tilton tally with 68 seconds left in the half sent the Cougars into the intermission with a 7-3 advantage.

The Mount Saint Vincent defense buckled down in the second half, allowing just one goal over the final 30:00. O’Dougherty scored the only goal of the third period with the man advantage to bring the Dolphins to within three goals with a full quarter left to play.

O’Doughtery struck again at the 13:27 mark of the fourth and Brian Zambri (Brooklyn, N.Y.) tallied with just 11:21 left in regulation to bring the Dolphins to within a single goal. Misericordia would not allow the equalizer however and a Tim Bojanowski goal with 33 ticks left in the contest sealed the victory for the Cougars.
