Moravian vs. Desales

The Game Story:
The Greyhounds won their second straight Middle Atlantic Conference match, defeating DeSales University, 11-4, on the HUB Quad. Moravian jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead and led 2-1 at the end of the first quarter. The Greyhounds would score the only goals of the second quarter to head into the intermission with a 4-1 lead. Moravian added two more goals in the third quarter and led 6-2 after 45 minutes. The Greyhounds had a 39-23 advantage in shots, a 36-29 edge in ground balls and won 16 of 18 face-offs in the match. Freshman attack Christopher Danni scored a career high five goals Moravian and he had one assist and three ground balls. Junior midfielder Ken Blom added three goals, two assists and four ground balls while freshman attack Jason Tosches had two goals and an assist. Junior midfielder T.J. Hirsch scored the Greyhounds' other goal and led the team with six ground balls and a nine-for-12 performance on face-offs. Senior defender Rocco DiPoalo, sophomore midfielder Aaron Satterfield and freshmen midfielders Keith Danner and James Messler each had assists for the Greyhounds while sophomore defender David Poppe and freshman midfielder Brian Cleaver each added four ground balls. Sophomore goalie Benjamin Larson had 12 saves in goal for Moravian. Dan Thomer led DeSales with two goals and an assist while Jay Young and Chris Laveglia each found the back of the cage once. Matthew Brancaccio and Sam Gobeli added assists for the Bulldogs while Jon-Erik Stamatelos had a game high nine ground balls. William Kehoe made ten saves in goal for DeSales.
