The Game Story:
The Greyhounds dropped a 21-3 non-conference decision to McDaniel College at Rocco Calvo Field as Moravian closed out a three-game homestand to begin the 2008 season. The Green Terror jumped out to a 5-0 lead after one quarter and lead 11-0 at halftime. McDaniel would score a total of 16 goals before Moravian got on the scoreboard with 2:32 remaining in the third quarter on an unassisted goal by freshman attack Christopher Mohapp. Junior attack Jason Tosches added a man-up goal for the Greyhounds in the third quarter before freshman midfielder David Forte netted an unassisted goal in the fourth. McDaniel had a 64-18 advantage in shots, a 48-30 edge in ground balls and won 15 of 28 faceoffs against the Greyhounds, who were playing without four starters due to injury. Matt Buschman led the Green Terror with five goals and an assist while Gibbs Preston had a game high eight points on four goals and four assists. Chris Edmonds also had four goals for McDaniel while Evan Young added two goals. Moravian freshman goalie Benjamin Leavy had 21 saves and four ground balls in the match while Greyhound freshman midfielder Michael Santos led the team with six ground balls. Forte won seven of 16 faceoffs for Moravian. Kenny McHugh played 45 mintues in goal for the Green Terror with four saves while K.R. Schultz played the final 15 minutes with two saves. Jed Barnes led McDaniel with 11 ground balls and he won 12 of 18 faceoffs.
