| DANBURY, CT - Jon Snedeker (Southington, CT) goal at 7:48 propeled Eastern Connecticut Men’s Lacrosse team to a victory over Western Connecticut State University at Westside Athletic Complex on Wednesday afternoon. Trailing at intermission, the Warriors outscored the Colonials 5-1 in the third stanza. Kyle MacDonald (Hamden, CT) scored three goals in the period to give Eastern an 11-10 advantage heading into the fouth quarter. WestConn came to life in the fourth quarter with three goals by Ron Pac (Glastonbury, CT) and two by A.J Barbieri (Islip Terrace, NY). The Colonials would threaten late in the period but a late shot was deflected by Eastern’s goalie Kyle Savage (Southington, CT). For the Warriors, now 4-5, Matt Savage (Southington, CT) tallied three goals. Five Eastern players totaled two goals on the day: Dave Carpenter (Redding, CT), Tyler Prescott (Norwalk, CT), Pete Hamilton (Rutland, VT), Tom Laverty (Westport, CT), and MacDonald. Tim Sheehan (Somers, CT) added a goal in the win. For the Colonials, Barbieri and Pac lead the team with three goals a piece. John Stashenko (Norwalk, CT), Adam Lanehart (Redding, CT), and Terry Stroz (Monroe, CT) each netted two goals. While Mike Nazzaro (Trumbull, CT) added a goal for Western. Savage earned the victory by stopping nine shots on goal for Eastern Connecticut. Eddie Boyle (East Islip, NY) turned away 14 shots on goal out of 29 for the Colonials. WestConn turns around to play Castleton State at home on Thursday afternoon, April 5. Faceoff is slatted for 4:00.
