The Game Story:
DANBURY, CT (April 18) - The Keene State College men's lacrosse team withstood Western Connecticut State University's second half comeback bid and held on for a 14-11 victory at The WAC on Saturday afternoon.

The Owls, 6-3 overall and 4-1 in the Little East Conference, raced out to a 7-0 lead behind a trio of goals from freshman attack Griffin Meehan (Simsbury, CT) in the opening 17 minutes of play. Meehan finished the afternoon with a game-high five goals and now has 27 markers on the season.

WestConn, 3-10 and 1-4 in the LEC, battled back over the final 13 minutes of the second quarter and scored four straight goals, capped off by A. J. Barbieri's (Islip Terrace, NY) 19th of the season. Barbieri went on to score a team-high four goals, including three in the second half, on the afternoon.

The Colonials drew within two goals on four different occasions in the second half, the final time at 13-11 following Adam Lanehart's (Redding, CT) 35th tally of the season with 2:15 remaining. He had a pair of goals on Saturday.

Rodney Arganese (Trumbull, CT) and Tony Santa Fe (Derry, NH) contributed three and two goals, respectively for the winners.

Sean Macey (New Fairfield, CT) stayed atop the WestConn scoring list as he found the back of the net twice and has 39 goals and a team-high 49 points.

Alec Corliss (Waltham, MA) earned the victory between the pipes and made 14 saves for the Owls. Tyler Martone (Cheshire, CT) turned away 11 shots for the Colonials.

WestConn hosts arch-rival Eastern Connecticut State University at The WAC on Tuesday, April 21. Face off is slated for 4 pm.
