Maritime College fought back to even the score with two minutes remaining in the period, but Macey connected on his third goal of the game with 30 seconds remaining to give WestConn a 3-2 lead after one quarter of play. Maritime College took the momentum to start the second period and scored three goals in just over four minutes for a 5-3 lead. Macey and Lanehart stopped the Maritime run with back-to-back goals to tie the score at 5-5. After the Privateers went back up by one, 6-5, Lanehart scored a short-handed goal in the final minute of the half to knot the score at 6-6 at intermission.

WestConn again started quickly in the second half taking an 8-6 advantage on goals by A.J. Barbieri and Sean Macey. With five minutes remaining in the period, Maritime College scored two goals in 10 seconds to again tie the score, 8-8. WestConn regained the lead on Lanehart’s third goal of the game at the 3:04 mark, but with one minute remaining Andrew Marklin scored an unassisted goal to even things at 9-9 going into the fourth period. In the fourth, WestConn outshot Maritime College 15-7, but were repeatedly denied by Colin Gallagher who made nine saves. Goals by Montreuil, Lenseth, and Doherty put the Privateers up 12-9 with five minutes remaining in the game and in spite of a flurry of scoring chances for the Colonials, Maritime College held on for a 12-10 victory.

Colin Gallagher takes the well-deserved win in goal for Maritime College, while freshman Tyler Martone (Cheshire, CT), making his first start in a WestConn uniform, takes the loss. With the loss, WestConn falls to 1-3 on the season, while Maritime College stands at 4-1.
