Mount senior Anderson Morgan (Mason, OH/Moeller) scored with 2:34 showing on the clock in overtime today to give the Lions a 12-11 MLC win over Trine University on Senior Day 2012. The Mount, 8-7 overall and winners of five straight, strengthened its hold on third place in the MLC, as they now hold a 6-2 conference mark. Adrian leads the conference at 9-0 while Aurora is 5-1. The Lions finall game in the conference this season, and last regular season game, is scheduled for Apr. 28 at Milwaukee School of Engineering. The top four regular season teams in the MLC advance to the post-season MLC Playoffs.

The Lions held a slim, 16-12 lead in shots at the half, as they grabbed a 6-5 lead at the intermission. Trine tied the game at six-all early in the second half and with the score tied at seven-all, the Mount recorded the game's next two goals, one by Will McClanahan (Cincinnati, OH/Madeira) and one by Morgan to forge ahead 9-7 by the 11:55 mark of the fourth quarter. The Lions went up 11-8 on a goal by Cory Wojciechowksi (Las Vegas, NV/Community College East) with 3:28 left in the game but the Thunder scored three straight goals, including one to tie the game with 39 seconds to play. Morgan would notch the game-winner, his fifth goal of the game, on the team's lone shot on goal in overtime.

Morgan also added two assists in the game while McClanahan totaled three goals and an assist. Four other Mount players scored one goal each. Cody Nolan (Mason, OH/Mason) played the entire game in goal, picking up the win, and recording 12 saves.
