The Game Story:
CINCINNATI (Feb. 22) -- Hendrix College sophomore attackman Daniel Abernathy and first year attackman Sam Brisson both scored a goal in the Warriors’ 10-2 loss to the College of Mount St. Joseph on Sunday at Schueler Field.

Hendrix falls to 0-2 on the year, while Mount St. Joseph improves to 1-0 in its season opener. The Warriors will take a couple of weeks off in preparation for its first home game of the regular season against Adrian College on March 6 at 4 p.m.

Abernathy (Bullard, Texas/H.S.) scored Hendrix’s first goal of the game with 3:53 left in the first quarter, while the Lions put three balls past the keeper in the opening quarter.

Mount St. Joseph held the Warriors scoreless in the second and held a 5-1 lead at the break. The Lions kept Hendrix off the scoreboard in the third and found the back of the net three times to take a 8-1 advantage to the fourth quarter.

Brisson (Ridgefield, Conn./Wooster H.S.) scored a man-up goal off an assist from sophomore attackman Dan Fox (Antrim, N.H./Contoocook H.S.) with 9:11 left in the fourth quarter. Mount St. Joseph scored two goals in the final quarter for the 10-2 final score.

The Lions outshot the Warriors 44-24, while Hendrix won 9-of-16 face-offs.
